HELP!!!!! PLEASe.............?

I stutter, and its getting worse. I'm almost scared to communicate anymore. I didn't used to, so it makes no sense. I don't stutter, as in like, t, t, t, t, tree. Its more like, I will be talking, and then I just go into uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, t, tree. :-( But, when I talk in a fake accent, Im fine, and when I get past the word I am having trouble with, I can finish a sentence. There are some days when i talk great, others are horrible, and some are in and out. I just wish I had something to fix it all. I could be funny, because I have funny things to say, but I won't say them because I know I will screw up and embarrass myself. It sucks..., really does. I also wish others had more tolerance of stuttering people, because I really can't stop and I wish that they were in my shoes sometimes. I also don't stutter if Im talking really loud. It almost seems that I stutter when I think about it. But I can't stop it. Its like my whole life is revolving around this.

HELP!!!!! PLEASe.............?
Slow down. Take a breath. Sounds to me like you don't have any self confidence in your speech or either the topic you are discussing when the spells hit. Exercise your mind and practice your speech on your free time. Try different things like concentrating on your breathing or looking at the persons nose might help. Don't let your mind get itself in such a rush. You're the one in charge of your mind.
Reply:That sounds exactly like me. Exactly like me. Don't worry though. Hang in there and just keep a positive attitude!

Maybe if you really want to you could see a speech therapist if you haven't already. They might be able to help you with something.
Reply:Read poems every day. This will help your stutter.
Reply:I have a nephew who stutters, but it is because he speaks to fast and tries to say things in a hurry. He is so wound up to have his say that he begins to stutter, on the other hand my pc guy has a problem with stuttering too and his happens from fear of people. He tries not to fear them but he battles as soon as people confuse him with too many questions.

Take a deep breath before you speak and relax and then speak slowly and dont rush. I think stuttering is often like a panic attack.

Have you spoken to a therapist at all? A speech therapist is also a good idea.

Remember panic locks the brain. It affects people differently however if one chooses to overcome the panic and simply refuse to listen to what its telling you, you can overcome. Let your words take their time and dont fear this thing. Fear is also one of the major cripplers of this world!

You will be fine. Dont let this become an issue. Force yourself to concentrate.
